Mariella Martinato founded her company in 1980 in Trebaseleghe, in the province of Padua, after gaining several years of experience in the fashion industry.
From the very beginning, the company specialized in creating high-quality accessories and in the artisanal craftsmanship of leather, working with leading international luxury brands.
These experiences inspired the desire to develop its own collections, combining creativity, functionality, material research, and meticulous attention to detail. Bags, clutches, beauty cases, travel cases, and Made in Italy accessories stand out for their elegant shapes, high-quality finishes, and artisanal craftsmanship.
Over the years, the brand has continued to evolve, introducing new materials, new product lines, and collaborations with selected local artisans, while always maintaining careful control over production and quality standards.

The arrival of a new generation brought fresh momentum to the development of the brand, introducing innovative products alongside the company’s historic core business and progressively expanding the Martinato collections.
The same attention devoted to production is also applied to distribution. Martinato accessories are available through selected department stores, boutiques, perfumeries, and concept stores across several international markets.
The goal is to continue bringing the style, elegance, and quality of Italian craftsmanship to the world through refined, distinctive creations, identified by the historic “MM” logo featuring the unicorn head.
MATERIALS AND MANUFACTURING
Leather
For Martinato collections, high-quality leathers are carefully selected, including buffalo, bison, nappa, deerskin, python, crocodile, and vegetable-tanned leather. Softness, stitching quality, and attention to finishing details characterize every accessory.
Leatherworking follows a carefully controlled artisanal process, carried out in-house or in collaboration with selected Italian craftsmen. Each product is the result of manufacturing expertise, stylistic research, and meticulous attention to detail, with the aim of creating elegant Made in Italy leather accessories designed to stand the test of time.
Horn
Natural horn has been used for centuries to create fine accessories. Martinato carries this tradition forward through collections of combs, personal care accessories, and objects distinguished by the material’s naturally varied colors and grain patterns.
The horn is crafted by hand in collaboration with specialized Italian artisans. Each piece is individually worked and finished by hand, making every product unique while preserving techniques rooted in the Italian artisanal tradition.
Fine woods
American walnut, black and Macassar ebony, wenge, zebrawood, Italian olive wood, briarwood, and fossil wood are among the woods selected by Martinato for its collections.
They are used to create hair, beard, clothing, and shoe brushes, as well as razors and shaving brushes. Each piece is cut, sanded, polished, and finished by hand, then treated with natural oils and waxes. The craftsmanship draws inspiration from traditional Italian cabinetmaking techniques, resulting in elegant, timeless accessories.
Galalith
Galalith is a historic material made from casein, the protein found in milk. Durable yet pleasant to the touch, it was once also known as “milk plastic” and today represents a distinctive alternative to natural materials of animal origin.
After years of research and experimentation, Martinato began using it in 2022 to produce handcrafted combs. Like horn, galalith is largely worked by hand. It is biodegradable, and Martinato products made from galalith comply with the REACH regulation.
